Dental Bonding

 Are your front teeth chipped? Do you have a gap between your front teeth? At San Diego Dental Studio, we can fix that with a simple procedure that is cost effective. Dental Bonding is a procedure in which we apply tooth-colored composite to a tooth. Composite is a mixture of porcelain and resin, the same material we use for dental fillings.
After we fill the chip or the crack, our dentists then shaped, hardened, and polish the tooth, giving you a natural appearing result. This procedure takes little time, can be done in office at the time of appointment, and usually requires no anesthesia. Dental Bonding repairs are generally for minor repairs. Ask our dentists, Dr. Bierman, Dr. Ma, or Dr. Summerhays if dental bonding is right for you.
How Dental Bonding WorksWe have found that dental bonding is not recommended for smokers as smoke causes staining on the composite. Also, this is a small repair, the material is not as durable as porcelain veneers and crowns it will require replacing and it does chip more easily. However, dental bonding is an adequate and very affordable solution.
