Porcelain Veneers

 Porcelain Veneers are a simple fix for cracked, gapped or chipped teeth. Using very thin pieces of porcelain, we can have a custom made tooth shaped veneer made from a dental laboratory. Then, in our San Diego Dental office we will check the veneer for a perfect fit, prepare your natural tooth to receive it and bond it onto the front of the tooth to create a beautiful and attractive smile.
Veneers can be a quick and easy fix to repair what appears to be a large dental problem. Our dentists, Dr. Bierman, Dr. Ma, and Dr. Summerhays, don't want you to live with insecurity in the appearance of your front teeth. Veneers can completely reshape your teeth and smile. Veneers have other advantages, they can often be alternatives to crowns and may be the solution to other dental conditions for the front teeth.
Porcelain Veneer are very durable, and generally lasts many years, though do occasionally require replacement.

What Porcelain Veneers InvolveWhen receiving veneers, it usually involves two office visits to complete the process. First, our dentists at San Diego Dental Studio prepare your natural tooth by lightly buffing and shaping the surface to allow for the thickness of the veneer. Then, a mold is taken of the tooth and with your dentist, we will choose a shade (color) for the veneer. This information is sent off to the dental laboratory to create a custom perfect tooth for you.
Once we have received your veneer from the lab, we will contact you for a second office visit. At this appointment, the teeth will be cleansed with special liquids to achieve a durable bond. Bonding cement is then placed between the tooth and veneer and a special light is used to harden and set the bond. This process is quick and painless. The result is a beautiful smile that you can feel confident in. At the conclusion of your visit you will receive care instructions for your veneers. As always, proper brushing, flossing and regular dental visits will aid in the life of your new and beautiful veneers.
