Dental Fillings

 Dental Fillings are a very common form of restoration. We use fillings to restore your tooth when it has been affected by decay and a cavity has been created. At our San Diego Dental Studio Office, we use Composite, which is a fill made of ceramic resin materials and is tooth-colored as a fill-in for the tooth surface after all decay has been removed.

To restore small to medium sized cavities. |

To repair anterior, or front, teeth that have been chipped. |
What a Dental Filling Involves
When our office staff have determined that a filling is needed, our Dentists, Dr. Bierman, Dr. Ma or Dr. Summerhays can answer any questions you have.
The Process

First an anesthetic will be applied to the tooth requiring the filling. |

Then, we will remove the decay that is present. |
| • |
Finally we prepare the tooth so that it will successfully bond with the filling material. |
Fillings are also subject to staining and discoloration over time. There is a life expectancy of a white filling and will need to be changed at some point.
If your tooth is sensitive for a week or more it is important to call our office at (858) 457-4100 so we can examine the tooth and determine if additional treatment is needed. |
